Montreal-based band and Saddle Creek (Big Thief, Hand Habits, Sam Evian) signings Land of Talk, have revealed the earnest second single ahead of their new album Indistinct Conversations. Existing in a similar realm to that of their aforementioned label mates Big Thief, 'Compelled' centres around a slowly churning chord progression, played loosely on electric guitar, as songwriter and vocalist Elizabeth Powell spills some of her most personal thoughts. The lyrics are painful and longing as Powell explains: “‘Compelled’ is about being deeply attracted to someone who is in a (toxic) relationship, and wishing things were different.” Indistinct Conversations will arrive on the 31st of July. -Holly Mullineaux  -Holly Mullineaux
